Dear Wings of Hope Family,
First, we truly hope that you and your loved ones are staying safe throughout the pandemic.
As you are aware, Wings of Hope serves low-income breast cancer patients by providing them with direct financial support to cover basic necessities like groceries, shelter and utilities. Here at Wings of Hope, we are keeping our clients top of mind, both because of the additional financial strain many will be under and the risk the pandemic has to immune-compromised patients.
Despite our knowledge that our clients are going to need us more than ever, we are very disappointed to have to announce that our 25th anniversary luncheon – our marquee fundraising event – along with all other previously scheduled fundraising events this year, have been indefinitely postponed.
As these events provide Wings of Hope with vital financial resources, Wings of Hope is going to do everything it can to pivot its fundraising strategies to ensure our clients remain supported during these extra difficult times.
While we know many of our supporters (both businesses and individuals) are having to re-examine their own financial commitments during these unprecedented times, if you are interested and able to support Wings of Hope virtually, here are some ways you can do so:
- Follow us on Instagram (@wohyyc) and Facebook (@wohfoundation), and encourage friends and family to do the same
- Share this message with your network
- Donate electronically – consider a one-time or recurring monthly donation in the amount of $2.50, $25.00, $250.00 or $2500.00 to help us celebrate our 25th anniversary!
Wings of Hope is 100% volunteer run and we are also juggling to adapt to these new circumstances. We’re optimistic however that with the support and encouragement from our community, we will be able to continue serving our clients better than ever!
Stay safe and take care,
Wings of Hope Board of Directors
