Our Purpose
Wings of Hope is a registered charitable organization that, provides financial relief allowing breast cancer patients to focus on their recovery. Patients who are receiving or have received treatment from the Tom Baker Cancer Centre are eligible for funding through 3 different programs.
Each program is based on financial needs and assistance must be directed towards particular costs such as:
Housing
Groceries
Utilities
Medication
Transportation/ Parking
Our Programs
All Wings of Hope funding is intended to help those who are low-income individuals and have exhausted all other means of financial support. This money is last resort for these patients.
(Patient Financial Assistance Program)
The PFAP program provides financial relief for costs directly connected to breast cancer treatment and basic living expenses during that treatment.
Wings of Hope endowed the Alberta Cancer Foundation (ACF) with a principal gift of $680,000. This gift generates investment income over time and this is how we fund PFAP.
(Augmented Financial Assistance Program)
The AFAP program is an additional source of financial help up to $5000 for patients. It is made available to those who have exhausted PFAP benefits and are still unable to afford daily living expenses.
Working together with the dedicated social workers at Tom Baker Cancer Centre this fund is administered through them and our volunteers.
